I love collaborating with other creatives. Local lawyer, Pat McKee wrote an amazing novel, Ariel’s Island and I was asked to take photos for his book back cover. We had so fun taking some fun photos in downtown Newnan. Also, funny story my husband bought me this book because Pat did an author talk at his work. I was like I have the book and that’s my photo on the back cover!
Newnan ArtRez {Newnan Photography}
It is a great honor for me to serve on the Newnan ArtRez Artist-in-residence board of directors. Newnan ArtRez offers residencies to emerging and mid-career artists from various disciplines so they can pursue their art away from everyday pressures while engaging in community experiences that enrich Newnan and Coweta County’s cultural environment. I have really enjoyed meeting and photographing some of the artist that we have come through from all over the country. So today I thought I would share some of the photos of artists and projects I have taken over the last few years. You can click on the photo to be be taken to each artists website. And if you know an artist who you think would enjoy our residency they can apply here!
B Family {Newnan, GA Family Photographer}
It’s no secret that I love photographing this family! Kalen and Robbie were the first people who hired me to photograph their wedding. My heart was broken when they moved to Texas but imagine my delight when not only did they move back to Georgia but they moved to my town! I was so delighted to do this photo session with them! Fun fact one of the photos even ended up on the cover of the city annual report!
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Val Emmich House Concert {Newnan, GA Photographer}
My husband and I had a very unique opportunity a few summers ago of hosting musician/singer/songwriter/actor/author, Val Emmich, in our home for a house concert and book reading. He was on a tour to promote his new book, The Reminders. I thought I would share the photos from this evening because we had so much fun! Val Emmich has been one of my favorite musicians over the past 10+ years but it had been awhile since he had toured in the south so I was very excited to have an opportunity to host him at our house. I had read his book and it was absolutely amazing. We had such a great evening of being with friends old and new and listening to wonderful music and hearing excerpts from Val’s book. Check out his new book, Dear Evan Hansen: The Novel, which is the novelization of the hit Broadway play, and has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for 19 weeks!
