My husband and I had a very unique opportunity a few summers ago of hosting musician/singer/songwriter/actor/author, Val Emmich, in our home for a house concert and book reading. He was on a tour to promote his new book, The Reminders. I thought I would share the photos from this evening because we had so much fun! Val Emmich has been one of my favorite musicians over the past 10+ years but it had been awhile since he had toured in the south so I was very excited to have an opportunity to host him at our house. I had read his book and it was absolutely amazing. We had such a great evening of being with friends old and new and listening to wonderful music and hearing excerpts from Val’s book. Check out his new book, Dear Evan Hansen: The Novel, which is the novelization of the hit Broadway play, and has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for 19 weeks! You can also check out more about Val, his music and other endeavors at http://valemmich.com.
I had a wonderful time photographing this lovely family. We had a beautiful crisp late summer morning lakeside. There was a gorgeous fog which gave these photos an early morning dreamy look. They were so extremely photogenic and naturals in front of the camera. So much fun!
I loved photographing this gorgeous family! They won a session through the wonderful Abby's Angels Foundation. I really enjoyed meeting them and running around the park with them. These kids are so adorable! It was such a gorgeous evening and a fun photo session.
I love, love newborn sessions. It is so special to be let into someone's home when they have just had a baby. I photograph babies when they are 5-7 days old so they are brand new! I love the process of coaxing little ones to sleep and capturing every sweet, new thing about them. Babies change so fast so capturing these first days are so priceless. Every newborn session is different based on the baby. Well Baby K was a rockstar! She was amazing during her session. I got so many sweet photos of her and I love them all so much!
I love photo sessions so much! I aways have so much fun running around and taking amazing photos of families. I love capturing relationships, laughter and those special moments. And then sometimes you have a family who takes that fun factor up to 1000. Oh my gosh I had the MOST FUN at this photo session. I laughed so much my stomach hurt. You could tell this family just relished all being reunited. They were all so funny and entertaining. I loved it so much! You can see how much fun we had by checking out these photos.
My mom, Dr. Gail Hale wrote a book! I was excited when she asked me to take the author photos for her book. We had an awesome afternoon taking photos and laughing together. Her book is now out and in the world and I am so proud to have been a small part of it. And yes I know I look like her. I love these photos of my mom!
I think it is important to give back to my community which I like to do by volunteering my time and talent to different organizations and charities that I believe in. One of my favorite organizations in my local community is the Newnan Theatre Company. This is a terrific local theatre who puts on amazing shows and productions. I am thrilled to be able to donate my time to them by photographing their headshots and shows. When I was a teenager I had one brush with theatre when I had to go on and perform for my sister at the last minute due to her laryngitis. I knew all the lines since I had helped her practice so much. It was absolutely terrifying and I knew theatre wasn't for me. But I enjoy watching it so much. And there are so many talented people who perform at the Newnan Theatre Company. I strongly suggest you taking in a show there. Check their website for upcoming productions! Here are some of the photos I have taken at the Newnan Theatre Company over the last few years.
Also, some of these photos are from me and Rebekah's Coweta Life blog post which you can view here!
I love, love being a photographer. There is nothing better to me than taking gorgeous photos of people and things. Two years ago my sister and I started a blog about our hometown. Coweta Life was founded to share the many wonderful businesses, culture, shops and restaurants that are in Coweta County. My sister is a very talented writer so putting that together with my photography was a natural fit. The best part about Coweta Life has been meeting so many wonderful people in the community. We are lucky that in Newnan we have the Newnan Artist Rez program in which artists come from all over the country to do an artist in residence at the adorable Gray Cottage. In April we were thrilled to meet and interview Phoenix artist Christine Cassano. I really wanted to share these photos here as well. Christine is an amazing artist and I really loved hearing and seeing the passion she has for her art. You can read more about Christine and find out about this specific project that I photographed on Coweta Life but I hope you enjoy these photos!
I loved taking Joy Barnes' new headshots and portraits for her real estate work. Joy is an awesome Newnan, GA real estate agent who has helped me and my husband with the purchase of two homes and made the process relatively painless which isn't easy to do! We took these photos on the coldest day of the year so far. I love these photos of Joy in downtown Historic Newnan.
